Gong Xi Fai Ci!!!!

(Gong See Far Chi)…(Wishing you a happy and prosoperous New Year).

Well it is that time again, and we are celebrating Chinese New Year.  Friday night was New Years Eve, Sat New Years Day, Sunday day one of the new year, Monday is day 2.  In China they celebrate Chinese New Year for 13 days.  Everything here is closed, next to no cabs around and the place is like a ghost town.

Friday we went to Lachlan’s school and saw him perform a Chinese Dragon Dance, and he was part of the dragon.  (photos will come latter as a friend of Lachlan’s took the pics).  He also sang Chinese songs for New Year and presented his parents with an ‘orange’ (mandarin really – it symbolises a pot of gold, prosperity, good fortune).

Well it is lovely, we have Sat, Sun, Mon and Tues off work.

Saturday we did not do too much, Sunday we had a BBQ at Julie and Bruce’s for KK’s birthday.  Monday and Tuesday not too much planned, just a bit of R&R hoping that everyone is well again.
