The three musketeers on two wheels!

June 2, 2008 by glenmyles

For something different this weekend I decided to take the kids to East Coast Parkway (a massive park in Singapore that runs down by the beach).

We have been to the park a few times, but this time I decided we would hire a double bike with a baby seat on the back.

Well Tay was put in first – because she really had no idea what I was doing – then Lachlan gets on the bike, and mum is left to try and get the thing going….lol

It was hilarious…we had a ball – Tay was a bit nervous at first, but she got the hang of it after a while.  Lachlan was just dead weight – as he could barely touch the pedals, so I was left to bike ride around the park with 25kg for Lachlan and 15kg for Tay.  It doesn’t sound much – but try doing it for an hour – that was my monthly workout!

Tay’s hat blew off and we had people on inline skates chasing us – all we could all do is laugh!  Then I ran over newspaper and another person on inline skates was getting it out of the wheels for me…

We had the bike for 2 hours – but after an hour the kids had had enough, and to be honest mum had too – but it was a great day.

Afterwards we went for food and drinks, then park, rides and games – good way to top off the weekend, if I do say so myself!

Uncle Micheal’s student!

June 2, 2008 by glenmyles

On holidays you always learn a few things – well Uncle Micheal was trying really hard to show Lachlan how to somersault over waves – we ALMOST got there!  Good try Lachlan!  Thanks Uncle Micheal!

Phuket – what can I say!

June 2, 2008 by glenmyles

This had to be one of the most needed breaks I can say I have ever needed.

It was lovely to get away from the hustle and bustle of work, and just chill out with family…ahhh what a holiday!

From the swims in the pool, to the beach, the shopping, the beautiful sunsest, and of course the bar – Phuket had it all!!

I will let you sift through the 300 photos….have fun! :-)

House’s and Weldrake’s in Singapore

June 1, 2008 by glenmyles

Loads to do and too little time – isn’t that always the way.

Well we packed as much into 7 days as we could.

Water park : what can you say – the kids always love the water park!

Sentosa : we spent a day at Sentosa, from the cable cars – to the trams – to the Merlion – to even Songs of the Sea at night.

Botanical Gardens Kids Park : the kids always love a great park!

Jurong Bird Park : what a way to spend Mothers Day it was great!

Night Safari : the shows and the tram where great – but with little ones not much more you can do – and who could forget the DRINKS!

And much much more including just playing around with your cousins :

I think (well hope) that a great time was had by all!!

KL with the House’s (and one Weldrake!)

June 1, 2008 by glenmyles

After delayed flights and the never-ending count-down till Melanie, Andrew and Lauren get here (and of course Aunit Sharon, Uncle Jeff and Nanna Roby) we finally arrived in KL.

After the initial excitment, we literally packed into a mini-van and we where off to the hotel.

One of the highlights of this trip would have to be taking all the kids to Sunway Lagoon.  They all had a ball – including Lauren and Taylor.  I think the best part would have to have been the water park…

We did the other touristy things like the Twin Towers and of course shopping….but it was great to be able to just chill out and relax with family.

Rugby

May 31, 2008 by glenmyles

Well I know it has been a while – but we have been a tad busy – lol.

I did not realise that I had not posted a story about Lachlan’s rugby.  I must have found 5 minutes to put up the pics, but not the story….sorry.

Well Lachlan started rugby.

We arrive at 9am – got our gear – and oh do we look smart!!!

Then all the under 8’s lined up on the halfway line for ‘warm-ups’.  Lachlan was doing great until what I can only describe as a ’sargent-major’ starts yelling orders at about 100 little under 8’s.  Lachlan wasn’t to sure at first – we where fine with the stretches, but when it came to more interaction like running in between all 10-12 coaches to play tag, it all got a bit too much.  Poor thing lost site of Glen and myself and started to cry.  He really did not enjoy the first half an hour….

After we prized him off our legs, and they broke into their small groups of about 10-12, he was fine.  He actually ran into one of his best friends from Kids Empire there William.  William had gone to the Australian school – so he no longer sees him at school – but they where best buddies at Rugby.

Now a couple of weeks into it – daddy has actually got him doing the whole of the warm up, and I think today for the first time – he actually enjoyed it.

Believe it or not – the first week he started – he scored 2 tries….then did the big soccer dance and all – we where all very proud of him.

Next week we have our first comp – so I am sure Lachlan will shine.

My golden sun’s

I could not resist taping this.  The kids kept watching this then rewinding it and dancing some more.  Sooo cute (but then I am biased) :-)

Finals of soccer!

April 14, 2008 by glenmyles

Soccer is over for this season - Lachlan was a little upset – but he got a trophy that he is still carrying around with him three days later, and the prospect of starting Rugby is very appealing to him!

On Saturday you could actually see how much the whole team had improved.  Mummy and Daddy where both very proud of him.  He took a bit of a spill in the last couple of minutes, and just like his Daddy, was not impressed with the mud on his socks…. :-)

Bye Bye Natsuki

April 14, 2008 by glenmyles

Natsuki finally went back to Japan, and Lachlan gave her a parting gift.

Although it has not taken him long to find another ‘women’.  Iano (pronounced I-AN-O) (another little Japanese girl on Lachlan’s school bus) has replaced Natsuki… lol

Nanny and Poppy’s trip to Singapore

April 14, 2008 by glenmyles

Sorry Nanny and Poppy, I have not had a chance to write this till now.

Well Nanny and Poppy came to visit us, and hopefully they had a great time, I know we did.  They did loads of things with the kids, as you can see by the hundreds of photos that I have uploaded.

We went on a wild goose chase to find a ship that is suppose to be the size of 3 football fields (I would not know because we did not find it)…but we had fun looking, we stumbled across a playground in the shopping centre – the kids had fun…and all we could do is laugh at how comical it was that there was this massive ship in Singapore and nobody seemed to know about it – typical Singapore really….

We went for lots of swims, to the beach, and played in the park.

Nanny and I also went on a school excursion to Club Kangaroo at Pasir Ris Park with Lachlan’s school – Kids Empire.  This is a great park where the kids got to pick up sea shells on the beach (well not really like Aust beaches, but hey they had a good time…), they played on the equipment and if they wanted to, pat a crocodile and a snake.  Lachlan was not keen on either – so we had to stay outside while Nanny got to pat those.  The kids where all disappointed that they where not going to see a Kangaroo.

We also had Easter and Tay’s birthday in the middle of all this.   The easter bunny came and left a message for the kids, and then we had Tays birthday presents.

She had a wonderful day, we had breakfast at McDonalds (pancakes – her favourite).

We cut her cake at home – because it was a Sesame St cake rather than Disney they would not allow us to take it to the restaraunt.

In the evening we all took her to Disney Naturally for dinner.  We got to the restaurant and all Tay could do is point at everything and say Micky Mickey…there where Mickey’s everywhere….even the pizzas and the chairs where shaped in Mickey’s head….

Unfortunately Nanny and Poppy had to go back to work and leave.  All where very sad to see them go, but we hope they will be back soon to visit us again.
